What does this scroll say? Was the rolled up parchment found in a bottle, or perhaps a scroll case? Is there a curse or magic trap that activates if the writing is unbound? Does the player need the services of a translator to find out what it says?

It might even be the rumored ancient writings of some great philosopher, or the lost spells of the mummified Wizard King. All these questions and more are answered in your RMVX game. Have some fun with it! The bound scrolls might even be RPG tutorial messages. Or, they could be worthless listings of a few hundred dwarf names…

An ancient clue rune that will help you locate some treasure, almost as if it were a map. Perhaps you can invoke the rune on the clue scroll for a magic spell? Is it the word of passage to enter some stony dungeon of the rpg game? Perhaps you can even find the legendary runescape with the clue.

Or… you can be a more malicious with the game you created. This could be a rune mark that afflicts players with a deadly curse! The clue scroll could lead to ancient traps, like you’d find in a mummy tomb. Perhaps it simply gives the wrong runescape treasure location. It could also be the wrong rune. Have some fun with clue scrolls.
