Enterbrain updated their RPG Maker Tkool blog with a few screenshots of the new AGM maker. Apparently there will also be a big update of some sort about Action Game Maker tomorrow.

They didn’t post larger versions, but here’s some examples of games you could make with the Action Game Maker quick templates. It looks like it’ll be a great program for us to use if we wanted to create them easily. The AGM sample games screenshots: (more…)

Player survey results

Solstice found some more research materials for us. Mudducky, a member of a few rpg maker forums, ran a survey of 100 random people about what they like in the games. It covers how characters level, battle system types, leveling control (training), features, and story themes. Of course, take the results with a grain of salt - most people in RM communities don’t even play games! (more…)

Your RMVX game needs more bugs? Here’s one! This material sprite resource is a miniature spider (as far as RPGs are concerned), but a dangerous one from the looks of its back. The crimson markings are a little more visible than a normal spider’s, we wanted it to look well on darker tilesets as well.

Groundhog day (”Jour de la marmotte”) is a yearly tradition in Canada and a few other countries. Groundhog Day was also a popular Bill Murray movie. We carefully watch a groundhog emerge from its burrow, seeing if they look at their shadow. Our morning groundhog predictions have only been proven to be 39% right, but it’s the fun that counts.
