Mini RMVX slime

These little creatures were the main monsters for a cave in “Might of the Mana Eggs”. It also works very well with different tint levels in the RMVX editor. Each of the hues represented a different element, and would use those on the player characters. I also made some little dead end passages in the walls and had these guarding them, but people didn’t like those too much :)

This creature was another used for the starting dungeon of a Rpgmaker game, like the gremlins I posted earlier. These little guys throw snowballs and pack a heavy punch. Most of them spawned in large groups (a rejected boss battle had 8), and they each didn’t have a lot of health. I wanted players to have to deal with them quickly… most I’d imagine would try some “All” RMVX skill spell effects, but that would get them beaten to death as the golems wouldn’t die fast enough.
This picture was drawn to make him look a bit like a melting icecube, but somewhat more curvy. He was the boss of the “Frozen Slime Cave” in Might of the Mana Eggs. This was a short 24 hour contest game I made using Rpg Maker VX. This creature was also accompanied by two “Slime Hands” (a few posts farther back) that appeared in front of him. These took the usual support roles… healing and debuffs, and were meant to be destroyed before you could take out the big guy easily. Change the tint of it in RMVX! Purple looks nice.
This creature is yet another for the frosty areas. My version of him excels at physical combat, but doesn’t have any magic abilities. You could use him as a heavy hitter, or give him some skills of your own. An icecrown should also have high evasion abilities (RMVX attacks on him will miss if using weapons). This makes him more vulnerable to skills and spells, even if they don’t do any additional damage. Doing small things like this to set some monsters apart from the usual grind will help make your Rpg Maker game and its battles more interesting.
This abnormal enemy was used as a boss in one of my RMVX games. It was able to sing, dance, and put people to sleep whenever it hit them. It was also part of a “rejected boss battle”, where an alternate version of the RPG monster summoned ghostly gremlins to haunt your nightmares.
